B) SUBMISSION GUIDELINE

1) Guideline for Abstract Submission

1. We welcome abstract on topics of biomedical research below
   1. Molecular Biology & Immunology
   2. Drug Discovery and Regulatory
   3. Precision Medicine
   4. Infectious Disease
   5. Planetary Health
   6. AI and Machine Learning, Bioengineering and Rehab
   7. Non-Communicable Diseases (Genetic/Rare Disease/Genetic Disorders)
   8. Biomedical Data Science and Bioinformatics (Big Data in Biomedical)
2. Choose the category that BEST fits your abstract’s content. This helps with reviewing and indexing.
3. Submit your abstract electronically through the conference website ONLY.
4. Presenters may submit more than one abstract.
5. Ensure your abstract is free from spelling, grammar errors, and scientific inaccuracies before submission. No amendments will be allowed after submission.
6. Submitters may indicate their preferred presentation format when submitting their abstract. However, the final decision lies with the Scientific Committee. All abstracts will be reviewed and assigned to the most suitable presentation mode and session.
7. Do not include graphics or references in the abstract. Use abbreviations sparingly.
8. If your abstract is accepted, at least one author MUST register for the conference. The registration fee must be paid by 15th August 2025.
9. All accepted abstracts will be published as submitted in a special issue of the International Medical Research Journal (IMRJ). Selected five abstracts will be invited for full paper publication in the Malaysian Journal of Medicine and Health Sciences, a Scopus-indexed journal.
10. The IBC Scientific Committee reserves the right to disqualify abstracts that do not meet submission requirements.
11. Encore abstracts (revised versions of previously submitted abstracts under different authors) will NOT be accepted.

2) Young Investigator Award:

Abstracts submitted for Oral Presentation may qualify for the Young Investigator Award if they meet the following criteria:

1. The first author/presenter must be 40 years old or younger.
2. The majority of the work submitted must have been performed by the author.
3. The author must personally present the paper during the conference as a finalist for the Young Investigator Award.

3) Consent, Permission & Copyright:

Submitters must conform to the following:

1. By submitting the abstract, the submitter accepts full responsibility for its accuracy and acknowledges that no amendments can be made after submission. The abstract will be published exactly as submitted.
2. All co-authors have been informed of the abstract’s content and have given their consent prior to submission. The submitter also agrees to act as the primary contact for all correspondence regarding the abstract and will ensure all co-authors are kept updated on its status.
3. Submission implies the author’s consent for the abstract to be published in the International Medical Research Journal (IMRJ).
4. It is the submitter’s responsibility to secure approval from relevant regulatory authorities and obtain any necessary consents.
5. The submitter must ensure that the work is original and does not violate any copyrights, proprietary rights, or personal rights of any third party.
6. Any potential conflicts of interest, such as financial stakes in products or processes mentioned, stock ownership, or advisory board memberships, must be disclosed and resolved by the submitter.

C) ABSTRACT FORMAT

General

• Abstracts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
• All submissions should be written in British English.
• The abstract should not exceed 300 words.
• Use Arial as the font type.
• When using abbreviations or acronyms, spell out the full term upon first mention, unless it represents a standard unit of measurement or is commonly recognized.

Abstract Title

• Arial, font size 16, bold, centre-aligned and in upper case.

Authors & Co-authors

• Arial, font size 12, justified.
• Superscript with number to indicate affiliations of each author.
• Superscript with “*” to indicate corresponding author.
• Underline the presenting author

Affiliations

• Arial, font size 12, italic, justified.
• Superscript with number to indicate affiliations of each author.

Abstract Content

• Arial, font size 12, justified.
• No indention for new paragraph.
• Not exceed 300 words excluding subheading.
• A summary of the research following a structured format which includes introduction, objectives, materials & methods, results and conclusion.
• Authors should include unique identifier / URL where applicable (registration of study).
